Christina Pardy, Board Member since 2023, President

Christina and her husband, Alex, live in Back Bay with their daughters – a JWS alum, an incoming Red Room student, and a future JWS student on the way! Christina founded Sh*t That I Knit, a popular knitwear brand based in Boston. After exiting the business in 2024, Christina now consults for other brands with a focus on Cabot – a high-end golf course developer. Outside of work, the Pardys enjoy spending summer weekends in Maine, skiing in New Hampshire in the winter, golfing, doing lots of art projects, and spending time together. 

Gaby Goldstein, Board Member since 2024, President Elect

Gaby Santana Goldstein is the Deputy Undersecretary of Economic Strategies for the Executive Office of Economic Development in the Healey-Driscoll Administration. She has more than 10 years of experience in the tech sector at companies such as Facebook and Wayfair. Most recently, Gaby was the Chief Revenue Officer of the women’s reproductive healthcare company, Hey Jane. Gaby serves on the Board of Directors for the Planned Parenthood Advocacy Fund of Massachusetts and on the Philanthropic Board of Directors for Boston Children’s Hospital. Gaby lives in the South End with her two boys, dog (Gimli), and husband – Adam. She is a graduate of Vanderbilt University and Harvard Business School.

Kate Dineen, Board Member since 2021, President Emeritus

Kate is thrilled to serve as President Emeritus, after serving as President, Community Committee Chair, and Class Parent. Kate has worked in the public, non-profit, and media sectors, and is currently the President & CEO of the Boston-based non-profit A Better City. She is an ardent advocate for reproductive justice at the local and national level and holds a Masters in City Planning from MIT and B.A. in English from Williams College. Kate lives in Boston with her husband, son, daughter, and unruly standard poodle. 

George Schultz, Board Member Since 2024, Treasurer

George and his wife Jessy live in the South End with their two children, a Yellow Room student and a kindergartener (and JWS alum!) at Park Street School. George is a Senior Analyst at an equity hedge fund based in Boston and has spent over ten years in the hedge fund industry. George received an MBA from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania in 2013 and a BA from Bowdoin College in 2005.

Outside of family and work, George is an avid basketball player and world traveler (pre-kids!). He is an adjunct professor at Columbia Business School and co-teaches a class titled “Mental Models” during the fall semester. George remains committed to Bowdoin and serves on the 1794 Committee.

Sophia Popova, Board Member Since 2025, Clerk

Sophia and her husband, Brad, live in the South End with their daughter (Red Room) and their son (JWS alum). Sophia is a technology investor at Summit Partners and Brad is an attorney at Proskauer Rose. They are college sweethearts who met at Yale, fell in love with New England’s seasons (even winter!), and have been growing roots in Boston for the last ten years.​

Perry Comenos, Board Member Since 2025

Perry and her husband, Chris, live in the South End with their two children. Their daughter had a wonderful first year in the Yellow Room and is now a proud Red Room student. Perry has spent her career in finance and today works at an investment management firm in the Back Bay. She is a graduate of Georgetown University and Harvard Business School. Perry loves living in the city and giving back to the local community, including serving on the board of her local park in the South End. ​

Courtney Gay, Board Member since 2024

Courtney and her husband, Kyle, live in Beacon Hill with their three daughters: a proud JWS alum, a current Blue Room student, and a future JWS student. Courtney has been an active member of the JWS community, serving as a class parent, co-chair of the Street Fair, and a member of the Spring Benefit planning committee.

Professionally, Courtney built her career working at investment firms in Chicago and San Francisco before choosing to step away from the industry. Today, she enjoys being home full time with her girls and staying closely engaged with the JWS community.

Amanda Goodman, Board Member since 2021

Amanda is mom to three daughters and lives in the South End with her husband, Campe. She is a Pre-K teacher at Buckingham Browne & Nichols in Cambridge and has been in the field of early childhood education for twenty years. Amanda graduated from Harvard with an AB in Sociology, an M.Ed in Human Development, and completed two fellowships in Early Childhood Education at Yale. In her free time, Amanda enjoys being in, on, and around the water, skiing with her family, running in B.A.A. events, and reading when it’s quiet enough to do so!

Kyle Karp, Board Member since 2023

Kyle and her husband, Doug, live in the South End with their two children, a JWS alum and a Blue Room student. Kyle is currently working for the family business, White Elephant Resorts managing retail. Kyle has been an active member of the Philanthropic Board of advisors for Boston Children’s Hospital since 2018.

Ben Levy, Board Member since 2017

Ben and his wife, Eden, live in the Back Bay. They have three children who were students at JWS from 2017-2025. Ben has spent his professional career in finance and joined the JWS Board in 2017.

John Nelson, Board Member since 2023

John and his wife, Jill, live in Beacon Hill with their daughter Lily (JWS alum). John works in finance and enjoys travel, exploring Boston’s parks and playgrounds, and regular trips to Dunkin’ with his family.

Anna Noon, Board Member since 2022

Anna and her husband, Matt, live in the South End with their two children a JWS Alum and a Green Room student. Anna is a graduate of NYU and the Fordham University School of Law. Anna practiced law in the debt finance groups at Cahill Gordon in New York and Goodwin Procter in Boston; and has taken a step back to focus on her growing family. In her spare time, Anna likes to travel, eat delicious food, and see live music. 

Jon Terbell, Board Member since 2025

Jon and his wife, Madelyn, live in the Back Bay with their two daughters, a JWS alum and a Green Room student. He is a Co-Founder and Managing Partner of FourBridge Partners and previously managed investments for the Babson College Endowment. He is also an avid golfer.​

Xi Viola, Board Member since 2024

Xi and her husband Peter live in East Boston with their son (in Kindergarten at the Learning Project) and daughter (in the Blue Room). Xi grew up in China and is excited to share her heritage with the JWS community. She received her graduate degree in Economics from Boston University and works for a management consulting and data analytics firm.

Eric Wolkoff, Board Member since 2019, President Emeritus

Eric and his wife Dara live in the South End with their son and daughter – both JWS alumni.  Eric is also a proud JWS alum.  He is a trial lawyer at Quinn Emanuel in Boston with a focus on general business and securities litigation

Grace Zakim, Board Member since 2021, President Emeritus

Grace and her husband, Josh, are longtime Back Bay/Beacon Hill residents. Both their children have attended JWS. Grace is an executive recruiter with the firm Isaacson, Miller where she leads national c-suite searches across higher education, health care, and the civic sector at large. Outside of work and parenting, Grace is an active board member and volunteer with several Boston-based non-profits and she is proud to support JWS.

Ex Officio Members

Mary Beth Sweeney, Director

Mary Beth joined the John Winthrop School community in 2018. From 2005-2015 Mary Beth was the director of early childhood programs at Mystic Aquarium in Connecticut. There she founded Sea School Preschool, the nation’s first licensed preschool in an Aquarium. After moving to Boston in 2015, Mary Beth worked as a director in traditional childcare and at an early childhood start-up. Mary Beth is a board member of Julie’s Family Learning Center in South Boston.

Nikki Kelly, Assistant Director

Nikki joined the John Winthrop School community as a co-op through Northeastern University in 2015. She has since held several positions at JWS including teacher assistant, toddler extended day teacher, preschool teacher (in the Green Room), and now assistant director. Nikki graduated from Tufts University in 2018 with a master’s degree in Child Study and Human Development. Outside of school, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, trying new restaurants, and attending spin and kickboxing classes.  

Olivia Bogan, Co-Teacher

Olivia is thrilled to be back at JWS as a teacher in the Green Room! Olivia first came to JWS in 2019 as a co-op student in the Yellow Room and later returned in 2020 as the toddler extended day teacher. Throughout her time in the JWS community, Olivia completed degrees at Northeastern University and Boston University, and is grateful to have returned to the school that inspired her love of teaching. Outside of school, Olivia enjoys singing with a Boston-based choir, Chorus pro Musica, and exploring new restaurants in Boston!
